Pascoal Pereira was on Wednesday elected unopposed to the post of the Dy Sarpanch of Cansaulim Panchayat According to information from Cansaulim Sarpanch Fervin Saldanha, Pereira was elected unopposed as the Dy Sarpanch on basis of a mutual understanding between panch members. "Isha Naik was the Deputy sarpanch earlier and as per our understanding , she tendered her resignation a few days ago. We then had an election process today and it was presented by the officials of the BDO. During the election process, Pascoal Pereira was elected unopposed as the Dy Sarpanch of the Cansaulim Panchayat. Five panch members were present for the special meeting to elect the Dy Sarpanch. I along with former sarpanch Jose Maria Furtado, Ratnadeep Naik, Isha Naik and Pascoal Pereira was present for the meeting," said Saldanha.
