In the silver jubilee year of Goa Liberation Day, Ravindra Bhavan Margao has organised a solo singing competition of patriotic songs for senior citizens (above 60) on December 28. The competition will be held in two categories, 60-75 years and for those who are 76 and above. There will be separate groups of men and women in each category. The competition aims at identifying the talent among senior citizens who have witnessed the freedom struggle of India. The contestants will have to choose a patriotic song each and present it in Hindi, Marathi or Konkani in 4-6 minutes. The rehearsal will be held on December 26 at Ravindra Bhavan Margao between 9.30 am to 4 pm and it is compulsory to attend this for the convenience of singers and musicians. The senior citizens who wish to participate in the contest can register their names at the office of Ravindra Bhavan by December 24, stated Damodar Naik, chairman, Ravindra Bhavan Margao.
