Revolutionary Goans Sanguem launches its women’s wing, Stree Kranti with an aim to bring together women from across the constituency and provide them with opportunities to develop personally and professionally. The Women’s Wing will provide a networking forum and create various programmes to encourage active women participation in the various industries.
The RG Curchorem Coordinator, Aditya Dessai pointed out that the wing would not only empower women in the various sectors but they would also work in tandem with Revolutionary Goans in the various initiatives planned for Goa. While the Revolutionary Goans Women’s Wing Member, Tina Mascarenhas highlighted that Goa is not the same as it was after we got freedom from Portuguese rule. “Today we need to ask ourselves whether we are really free. It is high time we walk alongside RG and support them in this fight to save Goa. Our MLA’s have finished our fields and hills,” she said. Alzira Furtado remarked that women are not inferior but equal to men. Another Member of Women’s Wing, Danica Pereira said the time has come for women to become independent and start their own business.
