PANAJI: To promote young talents who have contributed to the development of tiatr, its songs, and music, the Tiatr Academy of Goa has established an award named the ‘Josephine Dias Puroskar’. This award has been sponsored by Josephine’s son, Arvind Dias. To be eligible for the award, the artiste must be under 16 years old on the last date for application submission.
The Tiatr Academy of Goa will also be organising ‘Kantaranchem Daiz’, a competition for duets, duos, trios, quartets, quintets, and choral songs. The competition will be held in two categories: up to 16 years and 16 to 40 years. The ‘Josephine Dias Puroskar’ will be presented along with the Kantaram Singing Competition on 21st July 2024 at 3:00 pm at the Multipurpose Hall of the Directorate of Art & Culture, Patto, Panaji.
Application forms, along with the rules and regulations for the Josephine Dias Puroskar and Kantaram Singing Competition, are available at the TAG office, Block A, 2nd Floor, Campal Trade Centre, Campal, Panjim, and on TAG’s website, https://tiatracademyofgoa.com. The last date for submission of entries, along with required documents, is 28th June 2024 by 5:00 pm.
