Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has organised a workshop on 'skills for future' on November 4 at Old Goa. The workshop will be attended by approximately 90 officers from various industrial organisations and establishments, stated Deepak Desai, director of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. The workshop will have discussions on the required skills in the State, supply chain and what could be done to develop other necessary skills. Also, a MoU will be signed between the department and various partners in the State. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will attend the concluding session, which is open for all. Currently the department holds 42 different classes. A new syllabus course on electric vehicles and its technological study has been included in it recently. The department aims at making the youth in the State skilled in various sectors, stated Deepak Desai. Meanwhile, a new skill development centre will be opened at Sakhalim on November 7, at the hands of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. This centre will offer short term courses especially for women and around 700 women from across the State will attend this event, informed the director.
