Alleging that the BJP-led governments were the creators of the mining problem in Goa, the Congress on Sunday said the problem makers themselves cannot solve the mining imbroglio in the State.

Goa Congress spokesperson Yatish Naik said at a press conference that PM Narendra Modi and BJP had also given assurances to solve the mining issue in the same fashion in 2014. “There is no roadmap with the BJP to achieve it and the assurances are clear lies,” he said.

Claiming that Congress will come out with a solution to the imbroglio, the party spokesperson said the issue will benefit both Congress candidates in North and South Goa to win the elections.

Raising doubts about the intentions of the BJP-led governments, Naik said Goan people are smart and cannot be fooled by lies of the BJP politicians.

BJP party candidates are now being gheraoed by people who are exposing them that they have no intention to solve the mining issue.

Recalling how BJP government did nothing on the mining issue, Naik said that the cabinet advisory committee members who were appointed by Parrikar gave ambiguous statements.

“During Parrikar’s illness the issue remained at standstill,” Naik said.
