Police arrested two delivery boys in connection with the theft of goods worth Rs 1.90 lakh from a flat in Nerul.
The accused have been identified as Mohan Chitar Raj (20) and Birat Zak Bahadur Basnet (23), both natives of Nepal The incident took place on June 8 in a flat at Nerul.
The complainant Snehalkumar Patel of Vadodara Gujarat had locked the flat and had moved out. Taking advantage of his absence, the suspects are alleged to have broken the lock on the door of the flat and entered inside.
Goods worth Rs 1.9 lakh, including two MacBook laptops, an Apple Airpod, Nike shoes and Rs 25,000 in cash were stolen from the house. CCTV footage revealed that two delivery boys had come to the building.
Porvorim police detained both suspects on June 16 and later arrested them under Section 457 and 380 of IPC. Further investigation is underway under the guidance of Police Inspector Ditendra Naik.
