The Health Department finally enhanced its daily Covid testing capacity with a total of 2,645 samples being tested on Friday. The increase in testing comes almost three and half months since the Health Minister’s assurance to this effect.
On Friday, 150 samples or 5.67 per cent from the total 2,645 samples tested were found to be positive.
In addition to these, the Directorate of Health Services recorded one death, a 70-year-old man from Chicalim, Vasco.
With this, the total victim count of Covid-19 in Goa has touched 686.
The total confirmed cases in Goa presently stand at 47,491 of which 1,313 are active while 45,492 have recovered.
More employees of casinos, five-star hotels in Panaji test positive
PANAJI: The number of employees of off-shore casinos in Panaji continues to be on the rise with two more cases being detected among two different offshore casinos on Friday.
Previously, 30 employees of one of the largest offshore casinos operating in River Mandovi were reported to have tested positive for Covid-19.
In addition to this, an employee of a five-star hotel based in Panaji has also tested positive for the dreaded infection.
