In a bid to resolve the ongoing dispute over a controversial nightclub, the Assagao Panchayat and members of the Assagao Badem Citizens Action Committee (ABCAC) held a joint meeting with the landowner on Saturday.
The meeting aimed to find a resolution that would satisfy public interest and address the concerns of local residents.
During the meeting, villagers and panchayat representatives informed the landowner that they had no objection to the establishment of a bar and restaurant in the area.
However, they strongly opposed the operation of a nightclub.
Despite this, the landowner maintained that the establishment was solely intended to be a bar and restaurant, with no plans to operate a nightclub on the premises.
In response to the landowner's claims, locals presented various videos from social media campaigns depicting the structure as a nightclub, countering his assertion.
This evidence highlighted the community's concerns and reinforced their stance against the establishment of a nightclub in Assagao.
