MARGAO
The BJP has decided to contest the upcoming Zilla Panchayat election for the two seats in the Benaulim constituency.
The BJP leaders further informed the media that KTC Chairman, MLA Ulhas Tuenkar, has accepted the demand made by the Benaulim MLA to start a KTC bus service from Cavelossim-Mobor to Margao.
Addressing the media, Benaulim BJP Mandal general secretary, Sainath Bandodkar, said that the BJP will contest both the Benaulim and Colva Zilla Panchayat seats in the coming elections. “The BJP Benaulim Mandal has been working with the people of Benaulim. We have a membership of around 1,900 members in Benaulim. Our team is working for the people,” he said.
“Following requests made by the people of Mobor-Cavelossim and other villagers, the BJP Mandal took up the issue of introducing KTC bus service on the Cavelossim-Margao route. We have been told by the KTC Chairman that the Corporation has agreed to start a bus service from Cavelossim to Margao,” he added.
Bandodkar further said that the BJP is gearing up to contest the 2027 Assembly elections.
Asked for his comment on the performance of Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas, Bandodkar said that the MLA prefers to point fingers at the BJP Mandal for the absence of works. “We have decided to address the issues affecting the people of Benaulim,” he added.
