Ahead of his three-day visit to Goa, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Friday hit out at the ruling dispensation in the State, alleging that the BJP-Congress alliance has subjected the coastal state to “corruption, violence, and gundaraj” for the past 13 years.
Kejriwal arrived in Goa on Friday evening and is set to interact with party workers, planning strategies in view of the upcoming Zilla Panchayat elections due in December, from Saturday onwards.
In a post on X, Kejriwal accused the government of presiding over illegal construction, illegal mining, frequent power cuts, unemployment, and a decline in tourism, and also said that Goans are living in fear.
“BJP-Congress alliance has been running the government for 13 years in Goa,” he commented.
“During these 13 years, Goa has witnessed massive illegal construction, illegal mining, an insane amount of corruption, violence, state-sponsored gundaraj, deteriorating law and order, high crime rates, potholed roads, crimes against women, frequent power cuts, massive unemployment, a sharp decline in tourism, and an assault on Goan culture. An average Goan is living in constant fear,” Kejriwal alleged.
He said anyone who dares to speak against the government is “threatened or attacked,” adding that life in Goa has become a “daily torture” under the current regime.
Kejriwal asserted that AAP leaders and volunteers were “courageously raising their voice on behalf of Goans against the BJP-Congress alliance’s gundaraj.”
“I am going to Goa for a three-day visit to meet our leaders and volunteers,” he said.
