Digital initiatives launched to simplify access to govt records

PANAJI
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and IT Minister Rohan Khaunte on Thursday launched five digital initiatives in a bid to improve transparency, access to government documents and efficiency in departmental operations.

The new services comprise online publication of the e-Gazette, provision for certified e-copies of gazettes, real-time Inventory Management System, digitised access to pre-liberation publications and a revamped official website of the department.

Speaking at the launch at the Goa Legislative Assembly, Sawant said these digital initiatives will benefit citizens, researchers, media and government departments by easing access to official records and publications. “Goa continues to lead in digital documentation and e-governance,” he said.

Khaunte said the digitisation of the pre-liberation library and the introduction of certified e-copies mark a major shift in archival access and authentication. “The e-Gazette and e-copy services will reduce physical paperwork and speed up documentation processes,” he added.
