The High Court of Telangana at Hyderabad will on Thursday hear the anticipatory bail applications of Curlies’ alleged owner Edwin Nunes and several others, all of whom are wanted in a drug-related offense registered by Osmania University police.
Nunes, believed to be the drug mastermind, has three FIRs against him in just one month for allegedly operating the drug syndicate within and outside Goa and faking his COVID-19 test.
The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) and the Osmania University Police are on the lookout for 174-odd suspected drug dealers, traffickers, and consumers in the inter-state drug racket unearthed over two months ago. All the accused, stationed in different parts of India including Goa, have gone into hiding.
Nunes had filed a petition on September 26, which was slated for arguments on September 28, Wednesday. He prayed for his release in the event of his arrest in connection with the crime of Osmania police station “in the interest of justice” and pass judgment.
Whereas John Stephen D’Souza alias Steve, owner of Hill Top club in Vagator, is being grilled by the Hyderabad police about his network in Goa and Hyderabad city. In judicial custody since his arrest last month, the local court allowed his police custody for four days on Monday.
