MARGAO

Ahead of the July 8 public hearing on the Coastal zone management plan at the SGPDA parking lot, the South Goa district Collector Ruchika Katyal, IAS has tweaked Section 144 of the CrPC during the period of the hearing.

While the district Collector in a fresh order issued on Sunday extending the Covid protocol and easing restrictions, the July 8 public hearing will go on unhindered.

In fact, the order categorically stated that the public consultation for draft Coastal zone management plan scheduled on July 8 shall be permitted till completion of hearing at the venue subject to compliance of Covid appropriate behaviour.

However, gathering of five or more persons at public places, except for official functions or with permission from the district Magistrate and sub-divisional magistrate, will be prohibited.

Collector Ruchika had last week promised to tweak section 144 of the CrPC and Covid protocols to ensure smooth conduct of the July 8 CZMP hearing on the SGPDA ground.
