The Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation Board (IPB) on Thursday approved four new projects that would bring in investment worth Rs 230.05 crores and create 1489 job opportunities in the State.
At its 29th board meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, four projects out of 10 were cleared.
The projects relate to light engineering, manufacturing sectors, agro-food processing and automobile service sectors. The total investment that these projects will bring in is around Rs 230.05 crores and the projected jobs that will be created are 1489 with 80 per cent proposed local employment.
During the year 2021, IPB held four Board meetings approving projects with an investment of Rs 832.12 crore in the State and projected employment of 3613, with 78 per cent proposed local employment.
Recently, IPB notified its new Act, The Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation of Single Window Clearance Act, 2021 and is in the process of drafting new rules and regulations for the same.
IPB with the support of Goa Industrial Development Corporation GIDC, has also identified its land bank across various industrial estates in the State and released its first round of advertisement inviting project proposals across sectors.
