Amid simmering speculations over major changes in the State cabinet, the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has ruled out any such possibility anytime sooner.
Speaking to media persons at the sidelines of an event, Sawant said that there is no question of cabinet reshuffle for now. “There is no cabinet reshuffle now… you people seem to be more interested…,” he commented.
Meanwhile, sources confirmed that post ongoing organizational election and appointment of new State President, the Chief Minister is likely to submit report-card of his cabinet to the party high command for necessary decision.
“The performance evaluation of the Ministers is on-going. The report card or performance card will be submitted to BJP National President JP Nadda and Union Minister Amit Shah, post Winter Session, next month,” sources said.
Sources said that the party is also directed to conduct assessment of the Ministers and MLAs, at their own level and submit report.
For last few months, State remained abuzz over possible reshuffle in the Sawant led cabinet and the same gained momentum after BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade hinted at the likely development this year. The news had remained speculative throughout 2024-with BJP ditching out several deadlines.
Speculations were rife about cabinet reshuffle to accommodate Congress turncoats, along with Goa Legislative Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar for quite some time or rather since the time Lok Sabha polls were held.
While initially there were talks about induction of two new faces, off late the news was making rounds about CM replacing four of his cabinet colleagues.
