Normalcy returned to the temple at Poriem, following tensions among different groups over the conduct of rituals.
The two-day traditional saptah and the traditional Gavalan Kala were celebrated with traditional fervour in a peaceful manner.
When contacted, DySP Jivba Dalvi said all festivities at the temple were conducted in a peaceful manner.
“A police force which was deployed in the area for the last six days has been withdrawn. However, we will continue to monitor developments to prevent the possibility of another dispute,” said DySP Dalvi.
Police officials also said offences would be withdrawn against some persons who had been booked for violating prohibitory orders.
