Days after hitting out at the Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and civil society groups for obstructing Goa’s development, Town & Country Minister, Vishwajit Rane on Monday said that he was withdrawing the word “fraud” used against the NGO, Goa Foundation.
Rane also said that the government was with the people of Goa and will approach the Supreme Court and do justice to the people right from Canacona to Sattari.
“I would like to withdraw the word ‘fraud’ used against Goa Foundation. If I have hurt anybody’s sentiment with that particular word I withdraw it on the floor of the House,” Rane said, while making a statement before the start of Zero Hour.
The Forest Minister had gone on an overdrive deriding GF and civil society groups during the discussion on demands for forest on Thursday last week.
Rane’s outburst came in response to the recent High Court order on a petition filed by Goa Foundation to declare the Mhadei wildlife sanctuary as a Tiger Reserve.
The TCP minister said the State government will fight for the people of the State.
“We have to see that we run a very progressive State and we will put the facts before the competent authority,” he said.
He also said that as far as the architects are concerned, he wanted to make it clear that he never said he will not clear anybody’s files.
“I am not going to stop anyone’s files,” he said.
“But the members of the SLC 2021 will be blacklisted by the government on any town planning committee,” he added.
