Three officers from the Goa Civil Service, promoted to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), are given seniority of the 2017 batch, regardless of the year they were actually promoted.
Amarsen Rane, Levinson Martins, and Sunil Masurkar, were elevated to the IAS cadre under Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories cadre in January, this year by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
In an order issued on June 17, the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, has given seniority of the 2017 batch to all the three officers.
All the three officers are currently waiting for the MHA’s directions, which oversees appointment of IAS cadre officers across states and Central government departments.
Their promotion was based on vacancies of 2022 and 2023. Rane is the director of the Vigilance department while Martins is the commissioner of labour & employment. Masurkar served as the additional chief electoral officer.
