Five tourists were rescued from drowning along Goa’s coastline over the weekend, while two missing children were traced and three injured persons were given first aid by Drishti Marine lifesavers. At Arambol, a 31-year-old tourist from Karnataka was pulled out of the sea after getting into difficulty while swimming. At Ashwem, a four-year-old boy from Belgaum who went missing on the beach was located after a search and reunited with his family after verification.
At Calangute, a 45-year-old tourist was rescued after being caught in a rip current. A seven-year-old boy from Kolhapur who went missing at the same beach was traced at adjoining Candolim within half an hour. At Benaulim, two women from Bengaluru were rescued while swimming, and a 13-year-old boy from West Bengal was treated for a jellyfish sting. At Palolem, a 79-year-old tourist from Karnataka was rescued and shifted to hospital after breathing trouble. Two other tourists who slipped on rocky patches were treated on site.
