Delhi MLA and Aam Aadmi Party Goa desk in-charge Atishi, participated in the Parivartan Yatra held in Fatorda on Friday, along with AAP vice president Sandesh Telekar Desai and Margao AAP leader Lincoln Vaz.
Atishi who was in the state for a day-long visit stated that other party politicians are busy switching parties while AAP is busy making a development map for the state.
While addressing the gathering in Fatorda, Atishi said, "Why do we vote? As voters, we believe that our elected official will work to provide quality education, better hospitals, and other basic facilities. Within five years, we see our elected officials driving in big cars, building a bungalow, and opening a Swiss bank account. On the other side there is no change in our lives."
"MLAs are only concerned with their own advancement. The people trusted Congress and voted for them during the last election, but some MLAs switched parties when the BJP showered money on them. This is the status of politics in Goa", she further said.
"Kejriwal promised free electricity and free pilgrimage. He promised to set up a corporation for the taxi operators as well as announced several things for them. Today, women make up 50 percent of the population, but still they are dependent on the men of the house. Thinking of their pain, Kejriwal announced hike in Griha Aadhar scheme from 1,500 per month to 2,500 per month and Rs 1,000 for every woman who is above 18 years of age. He promised job creation in the state and unemployment allowance till people get employed," she added.
AAP vice president Sandesh Telekar Desai said, “Delhiites are enjoying good education infrastructure, however in Goa the government schools are closing. People are tired of having to pay high electricity bills. During Covid times when the government was busy doing corruption in the medical services; AAP came to the rescue and provided free ration and oximeters."
