Bailable warrant issued against Ola Electric CEO for non-compliance in Goa consumer case

PANAJI: The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, South Goa, has issued a bailable warrant against the CEO and founder of Ola Electric Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Bhavish Aggarwal, after he failed to appear before the Commission despite a prior notice issued in January 2026.

According to court records, the Commission had on January 28 directed Aggarwal to remain personally present on February 4 for clarification in a consumer complaint filed by Pritesh Chandrakant Ghadi. Though the notice was duly served, neither Aggarwal nor an authorised representative appeared before the Commission on the scheduled date.

An advocate appeared on behalf of the company but submitted that he had no instructions regarding the CEO’s personal appearance. Taking note of the absence despite service of notice, the Commission issued a bailable warrant.

The order directs the Police Inspector of the Koramangala Police Station to arrest Aggarwal and produce him before the Commission in Margao. However, as it is a bailable warrant, he may be released upon furnishing bail of Rs 1,47,499 with one surety of the same amount and an undertaking to appear at the next hearing.

The matter has been adjourned for his personal appearance and further arguments on February 23.
