Social worker and outgoing Canacona councillor Shubham Komarpant has petitioned the Sewerage and Infrastructural Development Corporation of Goa Limited (SIDCGL) Chairman and MLA Sankalp Amonkar to set up a sewage treatment plant in Canacona.
In a memorandum, Komarpant informed that the sewage load keeps increasing every passing day primarily due to tourism-related structures such as hotels and resorts, as well as residential projects.
According to Komarpant, SIDCGL Chairman Sankalp Amonkar is learnt to have shown a positive response to take up the matter into consideration as soon as possible.
