In the State Budget 2026–27, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has proposed a detailed survey of Goan artisans engaged in traditional occupations to bring them into an organised framework.

“I propose to conduct a survey of Goan artisans engaged in traditional occupations and bring them into an organized setup, while also providing them with financial assistance,” Sawant said.

He said that a roadmap and action plan for Viksit Goa 2037 will be prepared across various sectors of the economy, along with specific interventions to achieve this goal. Goa aspires to be at the forefront among all States in the journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047.

“To ensure the holistic development of Goa across different dimensions of progress, the “Viksit Goa @2037” document has been structured around five pillars — Physical Infrastructure, Economic Infrastructure, Social Infrastructure, Environmental Infrastructure, and Institutional Infrastructure,” he said.

The Chief Minister informed the House that the government is in the process of finalising a mechanism to develop the Goa Happiness Index, which will assess the well-being of Goans across various sectors such as health, community life, culture, education, and other related areas.

To ensure that Aadhaar services reach Goans in a smooth and efficient manner, a new scheme titled “Financial Assistance to Aadhaar Enrolment Agencies” has been proposed in the State Budget. Under this scheme, Aadhaar enrolment agencies will receive financial assistance of up to 40% of the operational expenses incurred in running Aadhaar centres. An amount of Rs 3.36 crore has been allocated for the implementation of this scheme.
