An elderly woman, aged over 60, dies after being hit by a car near Seraulim in the early hours of Sunday.
The incident occurred around 12.10 am on May 18, when the driver of a TATA Nexon (GA08AB1937), Vigan Dias (35), a resident of Verna, was proceeding from Fr Agnel Ashram junction towards Verna. According to his statement to the police, the pedestrian allegedly came into contact with the left side rear-view mirror of the car, following which she fell by the roadside in an unconscious and injured state.
She was immediately shifted to South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, by 108 emergency service, where doctors declared her brought dead. Her identity is yet to be established.
Verna police have registered the case under Verna PS MVA 75/2025 and are conducting further investigations.
