MARGAO: Raia Dy Sarpanch Godfrey Oswald Souza was ousted from office in a no-confidence motion on Monday. As if the writing on the wall was clear, Sarpanch Mario D’Souza had tendered his resignation from the post to the office of the Director of Panchayats last Friday. The no-confidence motion against the Deputy Sarpanch was carried by a 6–5 vote. The no-confidence motion was passed by a show of hands. The six panch members who supported the motion include Antonio Xavier Fernandes, Judas M. Quadros, Peter Quadros, Manuel Rodrigues, Minguelina P. D’Souza, and Queneey Dcunha e D’Costa. Those who opposed the motion were Sarpanch Mario D’Souza, Jacinta Dias, Cynthia Fernandes, Trifiono Cardozo, and Godfrey Oswald Souza.
