Goa has qualified on all parameters and will be formally accorded the "100% Literate State" by the Union Ministry of Education on May 30 which is also i.e. Goa Statehood Day.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Wednesday that the State government will celebrate the 39th Goa Statehood Day with an event on Friday at the Kala Academy in the capital city.
At the event, the State government will honour 10 iconic brands of the State which have grown parallelly with Brand Goa in addition to celebrating Goa's recognition as a fully literate State under the national ULLHAS program.
Meanwhile the Sawant-led State Cabinet in its Wednesday meeting has granted clearance to three tourism infrastructure projects under the Centre’s Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme.
These projects include the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Digital Museum at the warrior King's fort in Ponda worth Rs 64 crore, a Town Square in Porvorim costing approximately Rs 110 crore and the Porvorim Creek Experience project of around Rs 22 crore.
