Says it must house large community hall, post office and sub-health centre
PORVORIM
Saligao MLA Kedar Naik has emphasised the need for a bigger and better panchayat ghar for Guirim village.
“The panchayat should talk to the Guirim Comunidade and try to get more land in Guirim where a good panchayat ghar can be built with a provision for a large community hall, post office and sub-health centre,” said Naik.
“I had recently laid the foundation stone for the new panchayat ghars in Pilerne-Marra and Sangolda panchayat. Guirim Panchayat should not lag behind,” he added.
The MLA was speaking at Guirim after launching hotmixing work of internal roads in Wards 2 and 4 in the presence of Reis Magos ZP Sandeep Bandodkar, Guirim Deputy Sarpanch Shreya Naik, panch members Kalpesh Naik, Sukanti Kandolkar, Prajyot Kandolkar and some locals.
“Most internal roads in Wards 2 and 4 will be hotmixed at a cost of around Rs 50 lakh. The remaining roads in other wards will be hotmixed after the ZP election,” said Naik.
Naik said the road from Namoshi school to panchayat ghar and St Anthonywado gets submerged during monsoons, causing inconvenience to traffic, pedestrians and residents in the area.
“It was, therefore, decided to raise the height of the road at a cost of Rs 7 crore and improve the roadside drainage system, so that the road does not get submerged during rains. This work will be completed before the next monsoon,” said Naik.
Dy Sarpanch Shreya Naik and former panch Prajyot Kandolkar also spoke on the occasion.
