The Colva police has registered an attempt to murder case in connection with the assault on a woman at Varca on Friday.
Acting on a complaint lodged by one Jose Galdinho, a resident of Orlim, that his wife Lacima was assaulted in front of “Feed More Restaurant” Varca on Friday, the police has registered the FIR against one Joe Pereira, a resident of Reprovaddo-Varca.
In his complaint, Jose Galdinho alleged that the accused person intentionally attacked his wife Lacima on her head with metal rod, as a result she sustained serious bleeding injuries on her head, thereby attempted to commit her murder over the issue of previous enmity and health inspection.
The police is investigating the matter.
Meanwhile, former Minister Churchill Alemao has condemned the assault on the woman, as he highlighted the deteriorating law and order situation in Benaulim constituency.
