The Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress has lashed out at the State government after toxicology findings revealed traces of three banned substances in the vomit sample of BITS Pilani student Rishi Nair.

Mahila Congress President Pratiksha Khalap said the revelations confirmed what the opposition had been warning about for months.

“On September 5, I had categorically raised the drug angle. The government chose to turn a deaf ear. Now it is clear that the menace has penetrated our campuses,” she said.

Khalap accused the government of turning Goa into the “drug capital of India” by ignoring the crisis. “As women and mothers, we will not remain silent while an entire generation is at risk,” she added.

Calling for strict scrutiny of educational institutions, she demanded surprise inspections, sting operations, and monitoring of hostels, canteens and coffee shops near colleges.

She also criticised the BITS Pilani administration for allegedly withholding CCTV footage from parents.

Reiterating the party’s demand, Khalap urged the Goa Bench of the High Court to appoint a judicial commission to probe the case. “If the government cannot act, the judiciary must step in before it is too late,” she warned.
