A woman was injured in an accident at Sancoale when her scooter was hit by a car on the internal road of Paradeep Phosphates Limited at around 10.30 am on September 9.
Police said the car, driven by Shubham Gawade of Merces Vaddem, was proceeding from Sancoale Railway Station road towards the Zuari Agro main gate in a rash and negligent manner when it collided with the oncoming scooter.
The scooter rider, identified as Cecilia Abranches of Povocao-Nuvem, fell on the road and sustained injuries.
Following a complaint filed by Head Constable Siddesh Dessai of Verna Police Station, an offence has been registered
under Sections 281 and 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The investigation is being carried out by Head Constable Siddesh Dessai.
