The Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) has entered into an agreement with the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) to host the Cyber Commando Training Programme at its Farmagudi Residency in Ponda.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally executed in Panaji by Prof Naveen Kumar Chaudhary, Director of NFSU, and Gavin Dias, General Manager (Marketing), Hotels, GTDC.

Officials said the collaboration will not only strengthen Goa’s cybersecurity preparedness through advanced training but also boost hinterland tourism by positioning GTDC’s properties as centres for national-level initiatives.

“This agreement is a proud moment for GTDC. By opening up the Farmagudi Residency for the Cyber Commando Training Program, we are showing how our properties can serve both tourism and important national initiatives,” said GTDC Chairman Ganesh Gaonkar,

He further stated that the move will also help highlight the beauty of Goa’s hinterland and support ‘Goa Beyond Beaches’ campaign. “The upcoming NFSU campus in my constituency will further strengthen these efforts and will be a milestone for Goa,” he said.

GTDC Managing Director Kuldeep Arolkar said the partnership will facilitate GTDC in contributing to a national initiative while also showing the versatility of its properties.

“The tie-up reflects a forward-looking model of integrating tourism infrastructure with projects of national importance while simultaneously diversifying Goa’s tourism portfolio,” he said.
