Review transparency in awarding contracts

Corruption is an incurable disease that is more dangerous than cancer. The govt budget is a menu for corruption.  While the govt chants mantra of zero tolerance to corruption, the Lokayukta office continues to accept corruption-related complaints from citizens and is currently unable to proceed with investigations or actions due to the vacant Lokayukta's post. Fatorda MLA Vijay Sardesai has exposed innumerable scams, small and big, that had dragged Goa down the path of irreversible ruin. In past the Congress had alleged that contractors paying 15% as bribes to get contracts along with a 3% commission to lower-rung officials, thus affecting the quality of roads and buildings. These issues will always be shrouded in mystery with no clear starting point to trace and hold officials accountable.  The transparency in awarding contracts needs to be improved and constantly reviewed.  When all stakeholders join hands in the fight against corruption by imbibing and developing the culture of integrity, it will automatically lead to the path of progress and prosperity.
