North Goa District Police booked 177 persons during October 2026 to curb the menace during an intensified drive against illegal touting across the district. The drive ensures the safety and convenience of tourists and the general public.
According to the PRO, North Goa Police, 69 persons were arrested for illegal touting under Section 170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), while 108 others were prosecuted under the Goa Tourist Trade Act.
Special drives were conducted in coastal police station jurisdictions and at Mopa Airport Police Station as part of the crackdown.
The PRO stated that North Goa Police would continue to take action against illegal touting and initiate proceedings whenever violations are detected.
