Says it is crafted to serve some in real estate lobby

Madganvcho Awaaz and youth leader Prabhav Naik has said the presentation on the Draft Margao Master Plan 2041 has exposed a bitter reality — the so-called “vision” for Margao’s future is nothing more than a blueprint crafted to serve a privileged few in the real estate lobby.
While these well-connected cronies had access to the plan months ago, the common Madgankar was kept entirely in the dark. “This is not just undemocratic — it is a betrayal of public trust,” Naik charged.
Madganvcho Awaaz has strongly condemned this backdoor process, where real estate interests are scripting the future of Margao.
“Alarmingly, several proposed development zones fall in ecologically sensitive or densely populated areas, risking the displacement of communities and destruction of precious green spaces. Margao cannot and must not be reduced to a playground for profiteers, while ordinary citizens suffer from increasing congestion, flooding, and civic chaos,” Naik asserted.
He added: “This Master Plan is not about vision — it’s about division. It divides Margao between the powerful and the powerless. We demand that the full draft plan be immediately uploaded on the municipality’s website and e-portals, and that genuine ward-level consultations be held before any step is taken toward approval. Anything short of this is unacceptable”.
