Nearly nine months after his transfer to Ladakh and a month after a stern reminder from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), senior IAS officer Sanjit Rodrigues has been officially relieved from the Goa administration.

Rodrigues, a 2013-batch officer of the AGMUT cadre, held the portfolios of CEO of Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL), and Secretary for Protocol and Civil Supplies despite being transferred on September 12, 2024.

The Goa government issued his relieving order on Friday, a month after the MHA had directed that Rodrigues be sent to Ladakh administration without delay. Following the MHA directive, Rodrigues had reported to the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie, for a short-term training that concluded on June 4. He is now expected to join his new posting in Ladakh.

The MHA had made it clear in its order that Rodrigues stands relieved with immediate effect and warned that any further delay in compliance would attract disciplinary action and could lead to debarment from future promotions.

Meanwhile, the Goa government on Friday announced a reshuffle in portfolios after the return of two IAS officers -- Sanjiv Gadkar and Yetindra Maralkar -- to the State.

Gadkar has been allotted Protocol, Factories & Boilers, Goa State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, and will serve as the Nodal Officer for India Energy Week 2026. Maralkar will oversee the departments of Co-operation, and Printing & Stationery.

Revenue Secretary Sandip Jacques, who has replaced Rodrigues as the CEO of IPSCDL, will also handle Law & Judiciary, Legislative Affairs, and Labour & Employment.
