Porvorim Police has stated that the autopsy on the three bodies will be completed on Tuesday and will later be handed over to the families for final rites.
Police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving, after three youth were killed and two were injured when their SUV rammed into a roadside tree near Delfino supermarket in Porvorim in the wee hours of Sunday.
Police said the deceased, Shawn Fernandes, was driving the vehicle when he lost control on the vehicle and rammed the vehicle into a tree on the right side of the road proceeding towards Mapusa.
The impact was such that Veldrofe D’Souza, brother-in-law of the deceased, Shawn Fernandes, who was seated at the back fell on the road. Shawn Fernandes and Ninoshka Fernandes were seated in front, while Abigail D’Souza, Veldrofe D’Souza and Fiona D’Souza were seat at the back.
Ninoshka Fernandes and Fiona D’Souza are undergoing treatment at the Goa Medical College Hospital in Bambolim, police said.
