Stating that cooperative societies play a pivotal role in building and shaping society, and in the development of the nation, Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar has asked various cooperative and credit societies to extend full support to the public.
Tawadkar was addressing the final day of the 70th All India Cooperative Week celebrations organised by department of cooperation, in collaboration with the Canacona Urban Coop Credit Society Ltd, Kankon Taluka Shikshak Sahakari Path Saunstha Maryadit, Jan Vikas V K S S Society Ltd, Canacona at the Govt. Higher Secondary School, Canacona.
The function was presided over by Cooperation Minister Subhash A Shirodkar, while the keynote speaker was Hemant Madhusudan Kamat who spoke on the role of cooperatives in Rs 5 trillion economy and sustainable development goals, and also spoke on revamping of cooperative education and training.
Asstt Registrar of Coop Societies Registrar (Quepem Zone) Santosh P Naik welcomed the gathering while, while Canacona Municipal Council Chairperson Ramakant Naik Gaunkar, Registrar of Coop Societies Manuel Barretto, Canacona Urban Coop. Credit Society Ltd, Chairman Ajit Painginkar, Kankon Taluka Shikshak Sahakari Path Saunstha Maryadit Chairman Smt Sunanda Dessai, Jan Vikas V K S S Society Ltd, Canacona, Chairman Rajesh B Gaonkar also spoke on the occasion.
On the occasion, Pandurang D Gaonkar, Ashok S Mapari (Sanguem), Devidas V Naik (Rivona-Sanguem), Ulhas R Fal Dessai (Balli-Quepem), Prabhakar Y Gaonkar (Gaondongrim), Sudhakar R Gaonkar (Curchorem), Banu P N Gaonkar (Balli, Quepem), Prakash L Gaonkar, (Sanguem) were among those staff members of various co-operative societies from South Goa who were felicitated for their outstanding service.
The presence of Mahila Vailha Purush Self Help Group Co-operative Society (Shristhal), Sainath Prassan Self Help Group Co-operative Society Ltd (Khotigao), Dev Self Help Group, Cooperative Society Ltd (Nagarcem), Rajani Paik Mahila Self Help Group Coop Society Ltd, (Agonda), Vishnudev Self Help Group Coop Soc Ltd (Loliem), Shree Ganesh Mahila Self Help Group Coop Soc Ltd (Satorlim Gaondongrim), and Navdurga Self Help Group Coop Soc Ltd, (Mahalwada, Poinguinim) was recognised and appreciated.
Dy Registrar (Tech) Sitaram Sawal and Dy Registrar (Admn) Dinesh Pawar were also present on the occasion. Ajit Painginkar proposed the vote of thanks while the entire function was moderated by Shirish Pai.
