10-yr-old among Mapusa parishioners to extend support to Old Goa agitation

OLD GOA

A 10-year old boy was among the Mapusa parishioners who extended their support to the fast satyagraha at Old Goa, on Friday.

The parishioners were led by their parish priest Fr Denis Fernandes even as the satyagraha completed 17 days.

Speaking to reporters, the 10-year old boy Alron Pereira informed that he is supporting the agitation as he wants Goa to be saved for future generations.

“The way our grandfathers preserved Goa for our generation, the same way it should be preserved for future generations,” Alron Pereira stated and urged children to come forward to support the fast satyagraha.

A youth Bevan Dias also opined that Goa should not be allowed to be destroyed by those in power.

“We all have to come forward to save our beautiful Goa from destruction,” Dias said.

Meanwhile, the parishioners also put together a small skit highlighting how work could be done by bribing politicians.
