About 1,500 orthopaedics comprising super-specialists, postgraduate students and research specialists from Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra and other states will take part in a 3-day KOACON 2023 conference in Belagavi at the KLE convention centre at the JN Medical campus from February 3 to 5.
KLES Chairperson Dr Prabhakar Kore will inaugurate the conference in the presence of eminent orthopaedic surgeons and other personalities.
Addressing a press conference, President of the Karnataka Orthopedic Association Dr Ashwani Kumar Singh said the conference will focus on ‘Indigenous Invention for Atmanirbhar Orthopaedics’.
“Interactions will be held on the recent advances in orthopaedics, recent researches and contributions. About 300 papers will be presented during the conference that will enlighten the orthopaedic fraternity to assist them in their practices and surgeries for the benefit of the patients,” Dr Singh said.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rajendra Bhandankar said there will be five workshops during the three-day conference. Three workshops on the topics like joint replacement, paediatric orthopaedics and spine-related problems will be held at KLE Convention Centre while workshops on trauma and keyhole surgery will be held at Belgaum Institute of Medical Sciences.
