Bicholim police have arrested two labourers in Dharwad-Karnataka in connection with the assault on a labourer at Navelim-Bicholim.
According to reports, two labourers, Sadiq Mehmood Ali and Abdulrazak Sindhi, had fled the State after they were accused of assaulting a labourer, Abdul Hameed, also from Dharwad, on June 4.
After a police complaint was filed in the matter, Bicholim Police Inspector Vijay Rane Sardesai formed different police teams to locate the two accused.
When police received information that the two accused were in Dharwad, a police team led by PSI Rashmir Matondkar rushed there and conducted a search operation for about 12 hours, before locating both accused.
The two accused were then taken into custody and arrested at the Vidyagiri Police Station in Dharwad on June 4 at around 8 pm.
On Thursday, both accused were produced before the Third Additional Sessions Court in Dharwad and were later brought to the Bicholim police station in the evening.
Abdul Hameed is currently undergoing treatment at the GMC hospital in Bambolim.
PSI Akash Parwar is conducting further investigation under the supervision of PI Vijay Rane Sardesai, DySP Wilson D'Souza and North Goa Superintendent of Police Rahul Gupta.
