The two accused in the Shantinagar shooting case have been remanded to 10 days police custody, even as the police are on the lookout for the accused who had supplied the country-made pistol to Akbar Sheikh.
Margao police station in-charge, PI C L Patil informed that the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Margao has remanded main accused mechanic Fayaz Khatib and the abettor Akbar Sheikh to 10 days police custody.
He pointed out that the police are investigating into various aspects of the case, including the source of the illegal firearm used in the murder.
While the Margao police has been quick to arrest Akbar Sheikh, who had given the pistol to the mechanic for sale, the police are on the lookout for the main accused, who had brought the firearm to Goa from Bihar.
"Investigating into the case have been progressing on expected lines. We will soon get to the accused responsible for bringing the illegal pistol to Goa for sale," the police added.
