2 held for stealing laptop, phone at Arpora

Anjuna Police have arrested two men for allegedly breaking into a villa in Baga-Arpora and stealing a mobile phone and a laptop worth Rs 1.60 lakh from tourists from Mumbai.

The accused, Sunil Hanuman Chavan (22) of Karnataka, residing in Anjuna, and Vinod Narayan Naik (23) of Maharashtra, residing in Calangute, were arrested after police analysed CCTV footage of the June 15 burglary.

According to police, the burglary took place between 1.30 am and 4 am on June 15.

In his complaint, Chaitan Bansali of Goregaon, Mumbai, said he and a friend were staying at the villa when an intruder entered the premises while they were asleep and decamped with the valuables.

Police recovered the stolen items from the accused.
