2 toddlers drown in canal at Curchorem

PANAJI

In a tragic incident, two toddlers drowned in the canal at Betmoddi in Bansai-Curchorem.

The two toddlers, Rehan Sadik Shrittey (13 months) and Wahid Ashpak Hashmi (16 months) were residing along with their families in a rented house at Carremoddi-Curchorem, which is near the canal.

While it is unclear how the two toddlers ended up in the canal, it is believed that they may have slipped and fallen into the canal.

A person noticed the bodies floating in the water and raised an alarm, alerting locals in the area.

The police was notified and the bodies were sent to the Curchorem Community Health Centre, where both toddlers were declared dead.

Both bodies were later sent to the South Goa District Hospital at Margao for medico legal formalities.

Curchorem Police has registered a case of unnatural death under Section 194 BNSS Act and PSI Arun Endro is investigating the case.
