One person has been arrested on charges of stealing two cashew nut bags of 10 kgs each and valued at Rs 20,000 from a cashew nut depot at the Braganza House building, here.
According to reports, both bags had been placed outside the shop by the owner to attract customers and when he noticed the bags missing, he filed a complaint at the Mapusa police station.
Mapusa PI Tushar Lotlikar formed a police team and the accused, Somu Vasmani (38) from Karnataka but residing at Canca, was arrested.
Police said the accused had hidden the cashew bags in his rented room. The accused was produced before court and has been sent to custody.
