BICHOLIM
Three persons from West Bengal have been arrested for their involvement in multiple theft cases in Goa and Maharashtra. The case was registered after a complaint on Tuesday that a newly constructed house in Bicholim was burgled between the night of 7 April and the morning of 8 April. The thieves stole a laptop, a smart helmet, an induction stove, other household items, and about Rs 1,000 in cash. The total loss was estimated at around Rs 90,000.
PSI Akash Patwar of Bicholim Police began the investigation. During the probe, police received information that some stolen items were kept in a rented room at Madel, Thivim, where one of the suspects, Arif Ful Mondal (22), was staying. A police team led by PSI Akash Patwar and PSI Rashmir Mantonkar, under the supervision of PI Vijay Rane Sardesai, carried out a late-night raid at the location.
Mondal was caught during the raid and several stolen items were recovered from his possession. During questioning, Mondal confessed to a series of burglaries in Goa and Maharashtra along with two accomplices, Bappa Mandol (23) and Ali Azam Mulla (30), both also from West Bengal. All three accused have been arrested.
