Four persons were rescued in three different incidents at Arambol lake and Calangute beach on Wednesday.
In one incident, a group of 40 people were bathing at the Arambol sweet water lake at around 4.10 pm, when a couple, both aged 30 years, drifted deeper into the waters.
This alerted Drishti lifesavers Satish Satoskar and Shubham Satelkar who rushed to the spot and secured the tourists with a rescue board and a rescue tube.
In another incident, a group of 10 people from Hyderabad were swimming at Calangute beach, when one of them drifted deeper into the water. Despite the lifesavers constant cautioning, the tourist ventured deeper.
The 21-year-old man attempted to swim back ashore but could not and called out for help. Drishti lifesavers Haresh Kadre and Leslie Rodrigues brought him back ashore safely.
In another incident at Calangute beach, a 28-year-old man from Maharashtra entered the sea for a swim. Despite warnings from Drishti lifesavers monitoring the beach, the tourist ventured into the deep sea and was unable to swim back, being caught in a rip current.
Drishti lifesaver Siddesh Bhosle and Leslie Rodrigues noticed the struggling tourist and brought him ashore.
