Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Saturday assured to implement 7th Pay Commission recommendations for Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL) employees from October onwards.
KTCL currently has 2016 employees and the State Government will have to bear additional financial burden of Rs 1.5 crore per month to implement the 7th Pay Commission recommendations.
"State Government has already taken a decision with regard to implementation of 7th Pay Commission recommendation. It will be implemented from October onwards," said Parrikar addressing the gathering at the 37th anniversary of KTCL in Panaji.
Stating that KTCL can in various ways increase its revenue, Parrikar put forward a proposal before the Board of Directors of KTCL of visiting European countries to study the various initiatives which would in turn help in increasing KTCL's revenue.
Transport Minister Ramkrishna ‘Sudin' Dhavalikar said that KTCL has the capacity to compete with private bus operators, but for that it needs to focus on increasing its revenue.
KTCL Chairman Carlos Almeida also spoke.
