The Aam Aadmi Party which is in full swing to contest this year’s polls on Friday released its first list of ten candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in the state.
Delhi MLA and Aam Aadmi Party Goa desk in-charge Atishi has approved the list of 10 candidates whose constituencies are spread across both North Goa and South Goa districts.
She tweeted,’ “Happy to announce the first list of candidates of AAP for the upcoming 2022 assembly elections in Goa. This is the beginning of a change in Goa’s politics”.
Among the list of candidates are Mahadev Naik (Shiroda) and Alinha Saldanha (Cortalim), who have been ministers in the BJP government.
Lawyer-turned-politician Amit Palekar, who also figures in the first list, is also looking to make his mark in St Cruz constituency in Tiswadi.
The Delhi-based outfit has become the second party, after the Congress, to announce its first list of nominees for the Goa polls.
The Congress’s first list also featured 10 candidates.
Satyavijay Naik has been fielded from Valpoi which is looking at a tough assembly election.
Premanand Nanoskar, who was earlier with the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), is the AAP nominee from Dabolim.
Former Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress chief Pratima Coutinho is the AAP nominee from Navelim.
The AAP has decided to field candidates in all the 40 assembly constituencies of the coastal state, where poll schedule is yet to be announced.
