Claiming to have chalked out their manifestos after holding “dialogues” with the people in the respective villages, AAP candidates for Curtorim, Navelim and Nuvem released their village specific manifestos on January 27, in Margao.
Among the major highlights of the Curtorim manifesto includes the clearing of Sonsodo garbage dump in a time bound manner while the Navelim manifesto assures boating facility to be made available in River Sal using non-mechanised boats.
All the manifestos have environment, waste management, health, water and sanitation, agriculture, transportation, law & order, infrastructure, community and senior citizens as their key areas where the candidates would work on and accomplish if elected by the voters in these constituencies.
“Vaddo Clinics” also form a major component of all the three manifestos.
Addressing mediapersons, AAP's Nuvem candidate, Dr Mariano Godinho, said these manifestos were chalked out after holding “dialogues” with the villagers.
Edwin Domnic Vaz, the AAP candidate from Curtorim, said no development occurred in Curtorim while only maintenance was undertaken in this constituency. “Everybody desires change in Curtorim constituency,” Vaz remarked, while stating that work on Sonsodo garbage project was “suppressed” even as the required money and the contractor was ready.
AAP candidate from Navelim, Siddharth Karapurkar, said de-sliting of River Sal would be undertaken if elected to power. “The Congress party is finished and this election is a fight between AAP and BJP,” he remarked, while stating that much faith could not be reposed in the independents. “These Independents will jump from here to there,” Karapurkar added.
